Projects & Experience

At Energy Rigging, we understand the level of coordination, safety, and skill required to support lifting operations on major energy and industrial projects.

Our experience comes from working alongside contractors and subcontractors on complex UK construction sites, supplying skilled rigging and lifting personnel to support key phases of delivery. We know the importance of providing people who can integrate quickly, work to site standards, and contribute to safe and efficient project progress from day one.

We have supported projects involving:

  • Energy from Waste construction

  • Power generation works

  • Heavy mechanical installation

  • Steel erection support

  • Shutdown and outage activities

  • Large plant and equipment movement

  • Complex lifting operations on live construction sites

Our teams have been involved in supplying experienced Riggers, Appointed Persons, Crane Supervisors, and lifting support personnel to demanding project environments where reliability and safety are essential.

We recognise that every project is different, but the expectations are always the same: skilled people, clear communication, and dependable delivery. That is why our service is built around understanding client requirements and supplying the right lifting support for each phase of work.

Whether the requirement is for a short-term mobilisation, shutdown support, or a larger team for ongoing installation works, Energy Rigging provides the experience and flexibility needed to support successful project delivery.

  • The Lostock Energy from Waste (EfW) project, located in Cheshire, is a large-scale infrastructure development designed to convert residual household and commercial waste into sustainable energy. The facility uses advanced thermal treatment technology to generate electricity while significantly reducing landfill dependency, supporting the UK’s transition to a more circular, low-carbon economy. As part of the construction and installation phases, we supplied a team of 26 riggers over a two-year period, supporting complex lifting operations, structural assembly, and the safe positioning of critical plant equipment. In addition, we provided experienced Appointed Persons responsible for lift planning and design, ensuring all lifting activities were executed in accordance with rigorous safety standards and best practice. Our team played a key role in maintaining safety, precision, and efficiency on-site, ensuring that heavy components were handled in line with stringent engineering and compliance requirements throughout the project lifecycle.

  • The Shotton Mill CHP project, located in Deeside, North Wales, forms a key part of the site’s redevelopment, delivering an efficient combined heat and power system to support sustainable paper manufacturing operations. The facility is designed to generate both electricity and thermal energy, improving overall energy efficiency and reducing environmental impact. As part of the construction and installation phases, we supplied a team of 14 riggers over a one-year period, supporting complex lifting operations, structural installation, and the safe positioning of heavy mechanical equipment. In addition, we provided experienced Appointed Persons responsible for lift planning and design, ensuring all lifting activities were executed in full compliance with safety regulations and best practice. We have also supplied Health and Safety Advisors, Site Supervisors and Temporary works coordinators to the project.

  • The Milton Keynes Energy Recovery Park (MKERP), located in Buckinghamshire, is a major infrastructure project designed to process residual waste and generate low-carbon energy for the local area. The facility incorporates advanced energy recovery technology to divert waste from landfill while producing electricity and heat, supporting regional sustainability and waste management targets. As part of the construction and installation phases, we supplied a team of 12 riggers over a one-year period, supporting complex lifting operations, structural assembly, and the safe installation of critical plant and process equipment. In addition, we provided experienced Appointed Persons responsible for lift planning and design, ensuring all lifting activities were carried out safely, efficiently, and in full compliance with industry regulations. Our team played a key role in maintaining high standards of safety, precision, and operational performance throughout the project lifecycle.
